Finance is a heavily regulated sector that has in recent years seen a major increase in new binding legislation, partly due to pressure from the surrounding society. Regulation is necessary so that old mistakes can be avoided, but over-regulation is a very real threat that could at worst strip the finance sector of needed flexibility.
