Brainee

Do you dream of working and learning at the interface between Finnish politics and business? The Blic Brainee™ internship programme is a gem of an influencing internship programme, which all those dreaming of a career in influencing should apply for. It is a four-month paid internship for university students or recent graduates interested in social issues. During your traineeship, you will dive into the deep end of political decision-making and learn the basics of policy-making at both national and EU level.

Brainee™ training programme

you can work in either the Helsinki or Brussels office. Separate searches are organised for both offices twice a year, in spring and autumn. In the past, our internship programme has attracted people from the worlds of political scientists, economists, humanists, lawyers, realists, organisationalists, political broilers and do-gooders. However, we do not require applicants to have a specific educational or professional background, as we believe that the best results come from combining different skills. We consider an interest in politics and social issues to be a natural prerequisite for the job. We also value a fearless attitude towards work, the ability to get things done and take action!

Are you Blic's next Trainee in Helsinki?

We now have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and self-motivated trainee: we are looking for a sharp and socially-minded university student or recent graduate to join our team in spring 2025.

Blic is one of Finland's leading influencing consultancies. We offer you the opportunity to work at the interface between Finnish politics and business and learn a lot of new things. In our team, you will dive into the deep end of political decision-making and learn about lobbying, stakeholder work and business needs at both national and EU level.

At Blic you will learn and gain practical experience in different types of lobbying and consulting. You don't have to work alone, because we make trainees an integral part of the team and work community, and more experienced colleagues are there to support you in all assignments. It is important to us that the trainee period is fruitful and meaningful. That's why we offer ongoing support and training to develop your skills.

What do we expect from you?

Your most important qualities are a fearless and courageous attitude and a bottomless enthusiasm to learn new things! We value your ability to learn and take action independently.

We consider your interest in politics, business, consulting and social issues to be a natural fit for the job. Active involvement, such as in organisations, is an asset in this search.

We do not require you to have a specific educational or professional background. We consider it our strength that our work community is made up of experts from diverse backgrounds. We value all kinds of initiative and experience. Whether your background is in organisations, business or even the public sector, it can be useful at Blic.

We expect you to be fluent in Finnish, as the working language of our office and many of our clients is Finnish. We also hope that you will be able to work in English if necessary.

Why apply for the Blic trainee programme?

Our trainee programme is full-time (40h/week). However, we are flexible, for example to allow you to study while working.

The internship programme will last approximately 4 months and its exact timing will be agreed with the selected person flexibly for spring 2025.

The trainee will be paid a salary of €2 000 per month. We also offer the possibility of a lunch and refreshment benefit. We do not require any support from the university.

We are committed to openness in our social impact and to transparent practices.

The trainee will work as part of client teams together with our other consultants. Our clients are a diverse group of large and small companies and organisations from Finland and abroad.
