Who Succeeds in This Market?

Since I started working as the CEO of Blic, I have often been asked how we are doing. Usually, this question refers to whether business has been going well. Well, it certainly has, but the future is always built one day, one week, and one month at a time. In the previous financial year, Blic experienced significant growth, and profitability improved. When I took on this role, I noted that companies increasingly need consulting to address business-critical influence challenges. But what does this mean for us – and for the companies that are considering the role of influence in their business?

When planning new initiatives, it is important to look at the bigger picture. Finland’s economy has begun to recover after a weaker period. The past year has been challenging for businesses, although there are signs of slight improvement. However, Finland suffers from a lack of investment, caused by multiple factors. Cost competitiveness and regulatory conditions do not support a strong level of investment, and expectations for growth-supporting changes are high.

As companies seek ways to improve their operating conditions, influencing the regulatory environment with concrete proposals for change becomes a central focus. In a time when cost growth must be controlled while also achieving tangible change, businesses need increasingly precise and strategic influence plans. Consultants in this field are required to deliver more than ever before. Clients must be provided with business-critical solutions—answers to challenges that are essential for a company’s continuity and success.

This development benefits not only Blic but the entire influence consulting market. Expectations for us are higher—and we must help our clients win their Must Win Battle challenges. This is what Blic is doing now, and it remains our focus for the future. When we succeed in this, we, our clients, and all of Finland will prosper.
