Riina Nevamäki

I am a Partner at Blic, bringing expertise in politics, political decision-making, and public affairs, along with an extensive network across society. I contribute strategic insight and timeliness to our client work.

Before joining Blic, I served as Head of Government Relations at Nordea from 2021 to 2023, where I was responsible for developing a new strategy and building a team for sustained advocacy efforts at both the national and EU levels. Prior to Nordea, I was a Partner at another public affairs firm in Helsinki.

Until 2019, I worked directly in politics, most recently as Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Juha Sipilä from 2015 to 2019 at the Prime Minister’s Office. My nearly twenty-year career in politics included positions as Special Advisor in three different ministries for three different ministers, State Secretary at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, and EU policy advisor to the Prime Minister. During the 2015 government negotiations, I held a central role, serving as Juha Sipilä’s "right-hand."

An eternal optimist and idealist, I am driven by a desire to solve complex problems together with our clients.

With strong resilience under pressure, I find energy in challenging situations. My motto is inspired by Fridtjof Nansen’s words: “The impossible is what takes a little longer.”
