EU lobbying expert in Brussels

We are looking for an EU lobbying specialist for our consultancy Blic for a permanent position in our Brussels office. The role of the expert will be to advise our corporate and organisational clients on the implications of EU legislation and to support our clients' EU lobbying work. The job description includes analysing the business impact of EU legislation, monitoring the legislative work of EU institutions, and designing lobbying measures. The assignments will start in autumn 2024 or spring 2025, depending on the contract.

As the EU enters its new 5-year term, there is growing demand for the services of our Brussels office. As EU decision-makers make important decisions on issues such as the fight against climate change and the deepening of digitalisation, we need the views and solutions of those affected by the legislation. The EU Influencing Specialist will be able to contribute to this work and help to ensure that appropriate regulation is put in place to address the pressing issues of our time.

  • An appropriate university degree.

  • an understanding of the EU and the interdependencies between politics and business.

  • The ability to think in applied terms, to solve problems creatively and to work independently.

  • Resilience, social intelligence and the courage to throw yourself into ever-changing situations.

  • An analytical approach to thinking and an enthusiasm for delving into large and sometimes technical data sets.

Your duties will include in particular

  • Planning and implementing our clients' advocacy projects, both independently and as part of a small team.

  • Continuously learning the ins and outs of our customers' business.

  • Monitoring the preparation of EU legislation and analysing legislative texts.

  • Liaising and networking with representatives of EU institutions and other stakeholders in Brussels.

  • Reporting and strategic advice to client companies on the business implications of EU legislation.
